Proof that TACL’s efforts work

Expanding Medicaid in Louisiana gave access to preventative healthcare to more residents. Through these expanded efforts, TACL recognized a unique opportunity to further expand access to care.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Louisiana Medicaid conducted an analysis that demonstrates the positive impact of screening and early diagnosis. Data current as of September 2022 shows that through expanded efforts, 83,293 adults received colon cancer screening, 25,426 adults had colon polyps removed and colon cancers averted, and 1,155 adults were diagnosed with colon cancer as a result of this screening.

These efforts save the patients and their families pain, heartache, and potential loss of life.
